Deviation Actions
So I follow several blogs on Tumblr that post "bad" original/fandom characters and "Mary Sue" characters. And after seeing all of the ridicule and mockery lumped together into one place, I came to realize something...
What the fuck does it matter to you?
If I wanted to write an Attack on Titan fanfic and my OC protagonist is a winged half-angel, half-demon ice princess with rainbow hair and realizes she can use the power of love to kill Titans instantly... then I'm going to do it. Is it realistic in terms of the boundaries already set within this fictional universe? No. But does that mean I can't write whatever the hell I want? Nope. No it doesn't.
So for all the people with human-with-cat-ears FNAF characters, recolored Sonic OCs, angsty/edgy emo rainbow animals who are constantly being poked fun at, keep drawing and keep writing your stuff. The cool thing about art and literature? You can do whatever the hell you want to do and you don't need ANYONE's approval to do so. (unless you violate copyright laws, lol, don't do that pls)
Yeah, character development and stuff is important for keeping readers interested, but I know a lot of people draw and write NOT for other people, but for themselves. If the story is not to your liking, there's no need to be mean, rude, disrespectful, etc - simply don't fucking read it and move on.
Anyways...
If anyone has a character that's been called a "special snowflake" or "Mary Sue" or anything mean and derogatory because they have a crazy wild appearance that doesn't necessarily occur within the series they're meant to be from, post them here! Show me! WITH PRIDE. And if I'm particularly inspired I may draw them myself as a gift to you for being 3edgy5me ~ :3
